What does CMYK mean?

The term 'CMYK' refers to the colour mode that our printers use, where each letter stands for a colour.

C = Cyan
M = Magenta
Y = Yellow
K = Black

Every piece of artwork will be made up of colour values.

For example, if a piece of artwork has the following values; C = 0, M = 0, Y = 100, K = 0, the artwork will be pure yellow.

This determines how much of each colour ink the printer mixes to obtain the required colours and can be compared to the process of mixing paint to create more shades of colours.
